Social Impact Specialist | Social Impact Measurement Platform (Remote)

True Impact ( is an innovative new social impact measurement and reporting platform for charitable investments. Fortune 500 companies like Apple, eBay, PepsiCo, and UPS and their nonprofit partners use True Impact to quantify the social impact of their grants, volunteerism, and other philanthropic giving to demonstrate success and identify opportunities for improvement.

We're seeking a full time social impact specialist to support our client success team with equal parts project management, platform configuration, and nonprofit measurement consultation.

This is an ideal opportunity to be part of a tight-knit consulting and evaluation team, with the chance to help nonprofits better communicate their social impact to funders. 


  • A commitment to social impact reporting as a tool for amplifying marginalized voices and driving meaningful community change (by attracting and retaining support, and illuminating opportunities for program improvement).
  • 2-3 years of academic and/or professional experience with program evaluation, with bonus points for supporting logic model development.
  • Comfort and experience in a 100% remote team environment, managing projects through Zoom calls, Slack messaging, Google document sharing, and Teamwork project management. 
  • Enthusiasm for helping people overcome technical challenges and sharing solutions with genuine warmth. 
  • Proven experience writing effective emails and providing actionable feedback

  • A love of systematizing processes and turning annoyances into improvements.
  • The ability to work with a primarily EST time zone, with our common work hours from 12 - 4 pm EST.

Your Role on the Team

Having established a team of four measurement consultants, we support thousands of nonprofits to complete social impact reports every year, and are planning for significant scale in coming years. You would be working with the following folks to support reporting launches, nonprofit communication and support, and report feedback. Not to brag, but we’re a pretty special group, and we can’t wait to welcome a new team member!

Sadie, the director of client success. In addition to managing a portfolio of clients, she makes sure our engines don’t get overheated as new projects come online. Sadie leads daily Zoom stand-up meetings, runs point on software issues and product improvements, and grows cut flowers in Western Massachusetts. She was hired in 2010 as the first full-time staff of True Impact after a conversation about measuring the social impact of museums with CEO Farron Levy - the beginning of our robust logic model library.

Sara is a senior manager of client success. In addition to pulling back the curtain on the magic of impact measurement with the True Impact marketing team, she manages client and nonprofit technical assistance, and delivers data dashboards that bring impacts to life (#dataviznerd). What we liked so much about Sara when she applied was the incredible work she did with the Porch Light Initiative with Mural Arts Philadelphia, where she served as a national speaker, guided strategic planning, co-authored research articles, and helped facilitate program replication around the country. Her data background from Mathematica really helps her thrive in her many-hats role. Sara lives, runs, and periodically totes her family around state parks (in a trailer named Dora the Explorer) in Wisconsin. 

Chelsea is a client success manager. She brings her preternatural systems-thinking skills to improve project implementation, which she gained through a decade of managing and working with international health and community development programs at FHI 360, IDEO, and Global Health Corps. She thrives operating at the intersection of people and data, which is why she enjoys the role so much. Chelsea delights in exploring her home state of Vermont in all four seasons with her human and fur babies, and has taught Sadie everything she knows about gifs. 

Rebecca is a client success manager with a decade of program evaluation experience with UC Berkeley, Learning For Action, and Room to Read. Apart from her professional evaluation chops, we were sold on her expertise as a time-management coach, which she now uses to keep her clients honest and remind us what real life-work balance looks like. She lives with her family in beautiful Berkeley, California. 

What Your First Few Months Will Look Like

You’ll work closely with the client success team to get familiar with our social impact reporting launch cycles and processes. While you get acquainted with report feedback resources and client projects, you’ll be able to provide nonprofit support right away for our current reporting cycles. You’ll start with support we have documentation for, and begin developing additional templates to solve technical problems and guide nonprofits to report their program outcomes. You will also start providing feedback to improve clarity and consistency of nonprofit reports, with an experienced staff member there to coach you along the way.

You’ll collaborate with Chelsea, Rebecca, Sadie, and Sara on ongoing and upcoming report launches for the client projects they own, meeting with the team daily for status updates, and meeting with Sadie for a weekly one-on-one. 

We are intense about continuous improvement, and use daily team meetings to workshop problems together. Be prepared to provide a reflection on how you want to make the orientation stage better for the next person by the end of the month. Like all good measurement nerds, we love feedback.
